Once upon a time, there was a girl ,who looked up at the sky a lot…’  An ode to the things we see that make us believe there is more to discover…

This sculpture was the 3rd artwork that responded to my prose: ONCE UPON A TIME… which I had divided into 7 parts. For this show I set myself the task of making different art works for each section.; whatever style of expression they each evoked.

4 parts of the poem remained, so I went on to create a highly stylized diptych work on wood, a suite of 12 surreal landscape, an abstract painting on canvas, an iconography painting and a large complex sculptural doll with metres of wire lettering and motifs..

All the works summed up the poem with a wide variety of art forms and styles. The artworks had the respective text as their title and were also hung in sequence so that as you walked around the gallery you were also reading the poem/story,,

This was one of many exhibitions I created that explored merging storytelling with art and that challenged me artistically.
