When I look at my early painting studies I’m reminded of how much colour I saw.

This was one of the first oil painting studies I did as a student at the Athens School of Fine Arts.

We did these every day for the first three years.The model and the props changed every week or longer depending on the activity. We had a double sided, raised platform in the centre of the main studio space with two different models and compositions set up on either side.

After hours we could go to the basement where a large amphitheatre with life drawing ran every night for 3 hours.
