The correction from my professor remains on her right shoulder. Training in Greece was humbling and life changing.

Sophia was another of the professional models at the Athens School of Fine Art. This was one of many oil studies I did in my first and second years of study,

I had miscalculated the width of her shoulder and shape of its curve. The master professor seldom interacted with us. He would come on and off through out the week and always at the start of a new still life and model setup. They would last for 2 weeks. He’d visit at the start, say some words of wisdom, teach some principles, then hand us over to his able assistants.

So the heavy handed, repeated pencil strokes are pure gold. They speak of my ego diminishing and learning, respect and perception  As an eager student, they also speak of my thrill at the time of grabbing his attention.
