I invited the owners of this painting to write something about it instead of me: “We were lucky to attend one of Effie’s art shows with the knowledge that we were going to buy a piece for our new home. We had lived overseas for 10 years so looked forward to a new life in Melbourne.

“When we attended the show we studied all of the pieces carefully and were impressed with all of them but knew that the last piece ‘Jasmine Fire’ was the one meant for us.”

“My husband felt that she represented me…my travels, my homecoming and the fact that we had just planted Star Jasmine in our new garden, well this particular painting was the one. She would bless our house, our new life and still continues to bless our daughter’s room to this day.”

“When we knew that we were having a baby, we knew that Jasmine Fire would be perfect for her room. She is placed at the end of our daughter’s bed and looks over her when she sleeps. My daughter refers to the painting as mum watching down on her, keeping her safe at all times”. (Kirsty)
