This is an artwork from my ongoing Wishing Tree series .

It depicts a person coming to the tree holding objects that symbolize their wishes.

I had created two sculptures with this exact theme earlier that year, and so wanted to also explore it through the 2d medium of painting.

The sculptures we characterised by shapes and  a degree  of abstraction,  and this style informed my paintings.

Though in the 2D medium , the figures and mood, came out more expressionistic and emotionally charged.
