“They were an unlikely pair as they flew in different dimensions of space…”

When it came time for her to fly South, being inventive, he designed a contraption that would harmonize their wing speeds so they could fly South together; clearly a romantic type ‘our Fairy Man!”  A snippet from the short story I wrote in 2015 at the beginning of my travels in Northern Colombia. It seemed that everywhere I turned I saw bird sculptures.

After returning to Melbourne I first created Bird-Woman. Months later at the studio a friend handed me an old dial pressure gauge, which gave me the inspiration to create Fairy Man. This feels like a story that could be picked up again later to create more from it. I have the full story that inspired this sculpture and more photos in my Blog.
