One day in the town on the island of Ithaca, two eagles are seen fighting each other in the sky. The local soothsayer explains to the people that this is an omen warning of dire consequences for the men who conspire to take over the throne. So many years have passed since Odysseus left the shores of Troy and only those of true heart and loyalty have believed he would return to his homeland and  kingdom.

This artwork has gold leaf collage on the wings of the eagles and sepia and black ink with acrylic paint else where. I have used a style on some of the figures that is reminiscent of figure paintings on Ancient Greek pottery.
