TATTOO ANGELS are whimsical figures exploring portraiture through doodling and pattern.

These are mystical beings, composed of geometric design that resembles tattoos.

Each Tattoo Angels is unique and yet typical of ethereal subject matter in art and design. The space around them  is repeated within them; and the motifs of their body adornment is reflected in the space around them.

These were playful explorations that I did one day over 10 years ago. An opportunity that arose after finding a small number of neatly cut masonite boards.

They are a wonderful examples of how this kind of ‘creative play’ can perhaps lead, and  later be integrated in more seasoned practice.
