Aphrodite’s Palace incorporates one of my painted sculptures with two small painted canvases. It depicts Aphrodite standing between two pillars of her temple. Poised and proud, she holds out  a shell in her hands to the viewer;  and on the canvases she is surrounded and balanced, by more of her symbols

Aphrodite is the  Ancient Greek goddess of love, desire, fertility and beauty. A deeper look at her qualities, reveals that she was also a warrior goddess. A symbol of the complexity of feminine power in all its forms, she stands proud, defiant yet open to share her wisdom and grace with others. 

The Greeks were not the only ones to worship her:  ANAHITA Persia, ASTARTE Phoenicia, ISHTAR Mesopotamia, ANAHITA Sumeria, VENUS Roman Empire

Final note: Figure 3 has been created so it can hang on the wall or free stand, to be viewed from all sides.

Please Note: Comprising of three parts, the two stretched canvas paintings are 25cm x 25cm and the figure 30cm x 60cm. The three pieces hang individually with the headdress of the figure touching (though still individually hanging on the wall) the two canvases 2cm in.

The artwork is light weight and requires minimal weight bearing suspension.
